Three generations. Their own paths. A shared craft.
The family’s connection to the skilled trades began long before Benchmark.
Brian Agers’ father, Ed, was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 375 in Alaska and worked on the Alyeska Pipeline. Later, he taught heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration in Arizona, helping prepare others for careers in the trade.
His career included both doing the work and teaching others how to do it well.
Today, that family connection continues through Brian and his son, Asher. Each generation has followed its own path, gaining different training, experiences, and perspectives along the way—but the skilled trades have remained a common thread.
Twenty years of serving homeowners
Brian founded Agers Heating & Air Conditioning in 2004 and spent the next 20 years building and operating the company before selling it in 2024.
During those years, he learned that homeowners need more than someone who can repair a furnace or air conditioner. They need someone who will listen, explain what is happening, offer reasonable options, and respect the fact that it is their home and their decision.
Brian has also spent years working to strengthen the HVAC industry itself. He served on the board of directors of Gateway Air Conditioning Contractors and spent four years as the organization’s president, completing his term in December 2024.
The family’s connection to the industry continues there as well. Brian’s oldest daughter serves as executive director of Gateway Air Conditioning Contractors, where she has worked for more than four years.
The next generation
Brian’s son, Asher, attended Ranken Technical College and brings approximately five years of hands-on field experience to Benchmark.
His technical education and experience in heating, cooling, and refrigeration represent the next generation of the family’s involvement in the trades.
For Ed, Brian, and Asher, those paths have included pipeline work, teaching, business ownership, technical education, industry leadership, and years spent working directly in the field.
Three generations. Different experiences. One shared respect for the craft.
Real people working in your home
Our family history tells you where we come from.
The way we serve you is how we earn your trust.
Benchmark was created around a straightforward idea: homeowners should be able to call an HVAC company without wondering whether every conversation is going to become a sales pitch.
We want to listen to your concerns, diagnose the problem carefully, explain your options clearly, and give you room to make an informed decision.
Ask questions. Understand what we are recommending. Know what it costs. And know who is working in your home.
Whether you need a repair, seasonal maintenance, indoor air quality help, or guidance choosing a new heating and air conditioning system, our goal is for you to feel heard, informed, and respected throughout the process.
That is the kind of company we want Benchmark to be—and the kind of relationship we hope to build with every customer.
